Dermaviduals Skincare and CIT

Dermaviduals was developed by Dr Hans Lautenschlager in 1994. It was Dr Hans Lautenschlager background in chemistry and physics that lead him to explore the effect our environment has on our skin in terms of aging. It was then that he went onto developing the dermaviduals skin care range, as he was seeking a product that would have genuine results and not further harm the skin. Dermaviduals was developed and is manufactured in Germany and then shipped world wide.

Dermaviduals has been made to mimic the dermal membrane structure(DMS) of the skin. This formula in a cream allows the other/added ingredients to enter the skins surface efficiently.

Composition of DMS Cream

• Phosphatidylcholine (from soybean lecithin)
• Ceramides (from yeast)
• Triglycerides (from coconut oil)
• Squalane (from olives)
• Sterols (from shea nut)

Because of this formula, when applied the skin thinks it is its own structure therefore dermaviduals DMS cream acts as a delivery system for all other ingredients needed to treat the skin, as compared to just sitting on the skins surface and fooling the mind to thinking that another product maybe working. Dermaviduals DMS formula is so effective and has been proven to deliver results, that Dermaviduals have patented the formula and is only used and can be found in dermaviduals products.

Dermaviduals is free of perfumes, preservatives, emulsifiers, parabens, mineral oils, silicones, dyes and amines. Because of this, all dermavidual products can be used and applied confidentally knowing that no harm will be caused to the skin or any further irritation or inflammation will be apparent. Dermaviduals is a pharmaceutically proven product that will work and all products within the range can be tailored for each individuals skin concern. Even if an individual presents with no skin concerns and the skin appears to be in relativly good condition, it is encouraged to prevent aging of the skin and protecting the skin, rather than waiting until signs of aging start to appear.

Collagen plays a very important role in keeping our skin appearing and acting young. As we age our collagen levels begin to drop and it is then that we start to lose the elasticity and firmness in our skin and wrinkles appear. It is unfortunate that due to using harmful products on our skin, the environment that we live in and how we chose to live our lives, premature aging can develop, therefore we appear to look older than we actually are. Once the skin has adapted and strengthened from using the dermaviduals products, the in clinic use of the CIT (collagen induction therapy) pen can be introduced.

The CIT pen is made of medical grade stainless steel needles which penetrate the skin and awaken the skins cells to reproduce its own collagen and elastin in the form of healing. During this process, high grade active ingredients can be further delivered to a deeper level.

Dermaviduals Deco Make-up Range:
So you finally have your skin under control, but there seems to be something missing. Make-up is a product used by most daily and is likely to be setting your skin back from its full potential. Dermaviduals has given the cherry on top when it comes to looking after your skin and have formulated a cosmetic range free of all those nasty harmful perfumes, preservatives, emulsifiers, parabens, mineral oils, silicones, dyes and amines. Colours can be personally made up in clinic to suit any skin type.

Immediately after the treatment your skin will most likely be red and flushed (similar in appearance to a mild sunburn). You may also experience skin tightness and slight sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will reduce over the following few hours after your treatment and will have completely subsided by the next day. You may experience slight redness for a few days post-treatment. 3 to 5 days after your treatment, your skin is likely to feel a little dry and be flaky in some areas. This is due to the fast cellular turn over post treatment.

Because of the derma CIT Pen’s variable needle depths, it can be used on most body parts, including the face, neck, décolletage, hands, stomach, legs and arms.

As with any treatment, there are always contraindications and precautions that should be taken into consideration before proceeding. Your skin treatment therapist will go through a detailed evaluation to ensure the treatment will be safe and effective for you. Be honest in this evaluation, for your own benefit.

Visible results are evident between 5 to 8 weeks post your derma CIT treatment. However, one of the most exciting things about CIT is that your results will continue to improve over the next 12 months as the new collagen and elastin settles, strengthens and rejuvenates your skin from within. Results will vary from person to person, but to give your skin the best results, the correct topical skincare prior to the commencement of your course of CIT is vital.

Each person’s skin conditions are different and require differing levels of treatment. Your skin treatment therapist will determine the number of treatments to undergo. The number of treatments will be determined by your skin goals (i.e. erase visible pigmentation) and also by the health of your skin, making it important to prepare your skin prior to your first derma CIT treatment.
As a general rule 3 every 6-8 weeks are preformed to achieve optimal results. You will then be given a maintenance plan to sustain your results

This is a combined treatment with derma CIT and Light Emitting Diodes (LED). LED use post-treatment will speed up recovery, reduce inflammation and provide additional benefits over derma CIT alone.

You can typically resume your normal makeup regimen the day after your derma CIT treatment. If you feel you that you must apply makeup to conceal redness, it is important to wait a minimum of 30 minutes post-treatment. Ensure your makeup is a clean, physiological preparation.
